"Give a girl the right shoes...and she can conquer the world."

Yaasss!! This is exactly how I was feeling wearing these chic purple wedges, although the wide leg stripped trousers contributed to this boss babe feeling as well. It's also going to be the foundation for this entire post and perfectly describes this month's STAPLE PIECE - Bold Statement Shoes!! Styles can vary from flats to pumps to sneakers...the point of a statement shoe is to make it the crowning glory of your outfit, while the remaining pieces should be there to compliment the shoes.

Throughout this post, you'll find out my very own favorite statement shoes from my closet, a bit of advice on how I manage my shoe addiction, and of course the details for these AFFORDABLE babies featured above.

Now I may not necessarily believe that you need shoes to feel confident...hell I think with the proper mindset, someone could absolutely conquer the world freaking naked!!! However, I do think it's safe to say there are luxuries in this world that give us that boost, shoes being my main weakness when it comes to fashion. Over time I've discovered a few tricks that helps me save money and not over spend when it comes to the shoe department. I'm sure many of these techniques can be applied to other aspects in life as well...so read on shoe lovers!!

MAJOR ENVY

I love these shoes...I actually say that about a lot of my shoes, but who cares!!! I LOVE THEM ALL!!!!

These beauties are also from misslola.com and I got them during the Christmas in July summer special sale along with those rose gold platforms. I'm proud of both purchases for sure. For the outfit, I knew I needed the shoes to be the main event and since I was going to work, the black and white seemed the smartest solution. I think the outfit turned in to a pretty powerful look and I know I'll be frequenting this outfit in the future. The wide leg stripped pants add height, while the black tank acts as a neutral background and the choker gives it that attitude. Must give a shout out to those sunglasses from Nora NYC ...they're slowly becoming my go-to sunnies.

This photo shoot was just around a small set of stairs and I was simply just hanging around, eating my lunch in between shots, enjoying the breeze. It really was a nice hour lunch.

THAT COST WHAT?!

Wide Leg Stripped Trouser (Macy's): $35

Black Tank Top (Forever 21): $7.50

Purple Pump Wedges (Miss Lola): $31.99

Black Leather Choker (Target): set of 3 for $15

Fulton Silver Sunglasses (Nora NYC): $49.50

Geometric Tassel Earrings (Macy's): $26.50

Vibrant Violet Matte Lipstick (Maybellene): $8.50

GRAND TOTAL = $173.99

PERSONAL FAVORITES

The shoes I'll be showing today are all heels, however I do have other favorites that are both flats and sneakers, they just didn't make the cut for today's post. Which actually brings me to my next topic of managing your love for various fashion items and accessories.

First, I usually scope out the shoes I want at least two weeks in advance...this ensures I have the money (pay day of course) as well as allows myself time to browse around other sites to see if there's anything else I may like instead. Second, I raid the sales! Sales will be your best friend when it comes to living large yet still saving money. Third, this references back to a part in the first point, in regards to shopping around because this will help you find the best prices possible too. Most of my shoes are from smaller boutique shops, however when I do want to invest in those designer pair I do a little bit more planning. This is because I'll have to save up in order to afford those specific pair, which I do by setting aside a set amount of money each pay check (amount to be determined) and then building that fund up until it can cover the cost of the shoes. Finally, one of the biggest ways I manage my shoe addiction is by purchasing an even amount between styles. For example, I'll get basics along with more unique looks in order to fulfill my fix and continuously give me new options for different outfits.

Keep scrolling through below to see some of the pairs I picked!

LEOPARD VIXEN

Unfortunately, I can't really remember where I got these from and those scribbles on the sole give no indication either, so these you will just have to admire from a distance. Or...you can click here to find an alternative pair for just $32!!!!

BLUE SUEDE WEDGES

My go-to party shoe and right-hand man for the cruise I went on this past February. They're an absolute eye catcher and go with pretty much anything...surprisingly, since they're blue. Find a similar pair here for $25!!!

RUBY T-STRAPS

Steve Madden is a huge shoe brand favorite of mine and I have quite a few pairs, but none quite like these sexy ruby red t-strap heels that could give any outfit that extra umph. I wish I could wear these shoes to work more, but the heel is too tall according to our dress code standards. Sometimes I bring certain shoes with me to work just so I can shoot with them during lunch. Here's some other bold red shoes on sale at Aldo for $40!!!

I have a deep love for shoes and every day I battle with the constant struggle of..."to buy or not to buy..." and yes, it is extremely difficult. Using the same restraint and dedication you apply to other aspects of life can come in handy when trying to stop yourself from purchasing a pair of shoes (or anything else you may be in to) everyday. It's all about balance and you'll find you end up appreciating the shoes you do have more, when you're unable to purchase anything new.

Well, that concludes today's post and July's staple piece. Hope you all can leave with a smile on your faces and that lovely dose of midweek humpday inspiration.

ESCAPE THE ORDINARY!!!
