COLOR BLAST | NOVEMBER INSPIRATIONS

Updated: Dec 18, 2018

Hello November! We've entered that transitional period between fall and winter, where the weather (at least here in Cali) is all over the freaking place...you wake up and it's freezing, but then by noon it's warming up and you instantly regret all those layers you put on in the morning. Anyways, back to color. Instead of sticking to the typical warm colors of oranges, reds, and yellows, I took a different approach and went with cool jewel-tones in purples, fuchsia, and mauve - breaking up the intensity of those colors with a chocolate brown.

NOVEMBER COLOR SCHEME

I think purple is an underrated color and isn't really given the credit it deserves. Purples, violets, and fuchsia are often associated with more feminine characteristics, but there is so much more depth to those colors than most perceive. It's a rich tone that's almost always intriguing and can add a touch of magic to anything!

In the past, royalty and wealthy individuals have been linked to the color purple because of how difficult and expensive that dye was to make. Today, it still has the characteristics of luxuriousness and richness because of it's vibrant hues and deep tones. Many of the images below showcase how versatile these colors can be, even when paired together. Although, I must note when pairing all these bold tones together it is important to add just one light or neutral option in order to help break up all that boldness and keep everything visually interesting, not overwhelming.

See...purple can be both feminine and masculine. It also creates an interesting vibe whenever used; from fashion to design to nature to even makeup, purple may be a bold choice, but it will always be a conversation starter. I dare you to start using purple in your everyday life, I promise you won't regret it!
